Caltrans is alerting motorists of several lane and ramp closures along Interstate 80 (I-80) due to ongoing projects and emergency repairs in Placer, Nevada, and Sierra counties. Drivers should anticipate delays of up to two hours and plan additional travel time along the I-80 Sierra corridor, Caltrans warned.
For the week ahead, closures include:
Eastbound I-80:
- Monte Vista Pavement Rehabilitation Project: Continuous lane closures from Monte Vista to Drum Forebay starting 6 a.m. Monday, August 5, through 10 a.m. Thursday, August 8.
- Yuba Pass Separation Overhead Bridge Project: Nightly lane closures from Yuba Gap to the SR-20 junction, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., from Monday, August 5, to Wednesday, August 7, ending at 6 a.m. Thursday, August 8.
- Soda Springs Pavement Rehabilitation Project: Continuous lane closures from Troy to Soda Springs starting 6 a.m. Monday, August 5, through 6 a.m. Thursday, August 8, with additional closures from 8 p.m. Thursday, August 8, to 8 a.m. Saturday, August 10.
- Emergency Repairs Location 5: Ramp closures between Central Truckee and SR-89/267 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Monday, August 5, and Tuesday, August 6, ending at 6 a.m. Wednesday, August 7.
