Governor Newsom Proclaims Latino Heritage Month 2024 in California

SACRAMENTO – Governor Gavin Newsom has proclaimed September 15 to October 15, 2024, as “Latino Heritage Month” in California. The month-long celebration recognizes the significant contributions of the state’s more than 15 million Latinos to California’s history, culture, and economy.

Governor Newsom highlighted the diverse roots of California’s Latino community, which include connections to Latin America, Indigenous groups, and Africa. He also emphasized the state’s ongoing efforts to empower Latino communities through investments in education, housing, healthcare, and clean energy.
