(FOX40.COM) — It’s that time of year again when people around the world test their preparedness for an earthquake during International ShakeOut Day.
At 10:17 a.m. on Oct. 17, California will have its turn at practicing its earthquake readiness during the Great California ShakeOut .

According to the event organizers, more than 10 million people across the Golden State participated in the event in 2023.
Along with practicing the basics of “drop, cover and hold on,” the Great ShakeOut allows schools, businesses and organizations to update emergency response plans and supplies.
