Recalled Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price has broken her silence following last week’s election, which ousted her with 64% of voters in favor of the recall. In a fiery statement Friday, Price insisted the battle isn’t over, pointing to over 200,000 ballots still uncounted.
Price condemned the recall as a product of “plutocracy,” claiming wealthy donors like hedge fund billionaire Phillip Dreyfuss and developer Isaac Abid orchestrated her removal through millions spent on media campaigns.
She linked her recall to national politics, referencing “merchants of fear, hate, and discord” and even the reelection of Donald Trump.
Despite the overwhelming vote, Price declared, “The struggle continues,” signing off with the Latin phrase a luta continua. A new district attorney will be chosen in February 2025.
