Resurfacing project of heavily used California River Delta drawbridge underway

Caltrans District 3, in partnership with Caltrans Bay Area-District 4, is continuing essential work on the Highway 12 Rio Vista Bridge with a scheduled full weekend closure from 9 p.m. Friday, November 15, to 4 a.m. Monday, November 18. The $11.24 million project includes resurfacing the bridge deck with polyester concrete, replacing rails, and upgrading ramps to meet ADA standards. The work will improve safety and accessibility for all users, including pedestrians and cyclists. Motorists should plan for potential delays of up to two hours due to detours. Future closures are scheduled for December 13-16. Caltrans urges drivers to stay alert in work zones.
