The iconic Whiskey Pete’s Casino, located at the California-Nevada border in Primm, has closed indefinitely as of December 17, 2024. The castle-shaped resort, a landmark on the road between Southern California and Las Vegas, has left patrons concerned it may never reopen. Opened in 1977, Whiskey Pete’s was named after Pete McIntyre, a local Wild West character. The resort’s closure is part of ongoing changes by its owner, Affinity Interactive, which also operates the nearby Primm Valley Resort and Buffalo Bill’s. CEO Scott Butera confirmed the closure to allow for new investments at Primm’s other properties, but no reopening date has been set.
