A couple was rescued after their vehicle became stuck in mud on 6.3 Road near Gateway on Oct. 21.
According to Mesa County Search and Rescue (MCSAR), after becoming stranded, the couple had begun to walk toward the highway with steady rain falling and temperatures in the mid-40s. Mesa County Search and Rescue members went out with a UTV and found the subjects on the road. Although they were cold and wet, they were in good condition. The MCSAR members brought them to friends waiting nearby.
“We are glad everyone was able to get warm and dry,” MCSAR wrote. “If you are headed out on backcountry roads, check the forecast and let someone know your plans.”…
