DENVER (KDVR) — The director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives was in Denver on Tuesday and talked with police chiefs and other law enforcement officers about the latest tactics to get criminals off the streets.
Steven Dettelbach said his agents are targeting the worst of the worst and looking for what he called the “trigger-pullers” by using technology that helps trace bullets.

The ATF director was here from Washington, D.C., and spoke exclusively with FOX31.
When criminals scatter from a scene, finding them can be a law enforcement agency’s biggest challenge. That’s especially true when so many stolen guns are used in crime after crime in the Denver metro.
Dettelbach said it’s the “worst of the worst” that his small agency wants to help get off the streets.
