Wednesday cold front brings a few showers and some brief cooling

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) – A fast moving cold front will bring a brief shot at rain Wednesday afternoon and evening, then some brief cooling. Our next weather maker is swirling inland over the Pacific Northwest on Tuesday evening. It’s riding the jet stream, so it will be a fast mover. That fast movement means it will also be brief. That will help to limit the impact. Realistically, this is a low impact disturbance. Areas of rain and mountain snow will increase between 6 AM and noon from Northwestern Colorado to the Park Mountains and the Flat Tops in Northern Colorado. Expect areas of rain between about noon and 8 PM around the Grand Valley and especially on the nearby mountains. Spotty showers are possible between 6 PM and midnight south of the Grand Valley to the Four Corners – including areas around Delta, Montrose, and Cortez. Snow will fall over the central and northern mountains into the early morning hours. It will end before 6 AM Thursday.
