Skiers and riders, fresh snow is to be ridden today in northern Colorado as Tuesday’s short-wave system delivered the goods about as forecast.
A lull in the action starting tomorrow until Saturday will offer sunny skies and warm temperatures for skiing and riding on whatever resorts’ slopes are currently open. Snowmaking should be able to continue after sunset and overnight as temperatures will drop below freezing each night.
Vail opens Friday with limited, early-season access via Gondola One in Vail Village and Eagle Bahn Gondola in Lionshead Village.
The resort will provide access to beginner and intermediate terrain, featuring the resort’s signature Swingsville and Ramshorn trails. The resort will also be opening terrain accessible by Avanti Express. Beginners are encouraged to ride Eagle Bahn Gondola to Little Eagle for the best learning and beginner experience.
Two more snow makers are on the horizon, one for Friday through Saturday and one for Monday through Wednesday.
Recap:
Tuesday morning started off sunny and dry in Colorado’s eastern mountains (east of Vail/Aspen) while clouds were already building in the western mountains (Grand Mesa, Flattops and Park ranges), but by mid afternoon, had pushed all the way to the Continental Divide.
