GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – An unidentified woman found dead in Colorado over 20 years ago may have ties to South Dakota according to new details. On Aug. 10th, 1999, a man discovered the remains of a Jane Doe near the town of Walsenburg, Colorado. An investigator on the cold case said that her body was found in the area’s local dump and part of her skeletal remains were found in an old refrigerator. . A spatula, jaw, and additional bone fragments were found within 100 feet of the refrigerator. The trash in the refrigerator was dated back to 1988-1992.
