First State programs look for volunteers, donations to help feed residents in need

With Our Daily Bread in Middletown, their mission is clear: to help those in need receive nourishing, quality food.

Volunteers are needed to help prepare and cook meals during the week – including dinners from Mondays to Fridays and lunches on Tuesdays and Thursdays – and others are needed to pick up rescued food from partnered businesses across the Middletown-Odessa-Townsend area; to process and shelve donated items; and act as SERV Safe managers during scheduled meals.

Those interested in volunteering can complete and submit an application on the ODB website at ourdailybreadmot.com/volunteer .

ODB is also looking for donations for weekly meals and a community fridge. Acceptable items include fresh fruits and vegetables and canned items, as well as paper towels and garbage bags.

Items can be dropped off on Tuesdays. Those who are unable to donate items on Tuesdays can reach out via email to find an acceptable time.

ODB is also accepting monetary donations via mail and online.
