The Haunted Attraction Association is the only official association in the haunted house industry. Each year, it names the top haunted attractions across the country based on each being recognized as a member of the Haunted Attraction Association and satisfying criteria related to the HAA’s mission, which includes protecting customers and attractions and educating industry experts and employees.
Frightland near Middletown was one of the top 50 haunted attractions picked by HAA.
Frightland opened in 1996 and continues its annual horror-filled fun from late September until early November.
A Frightland ticket grants access to all attractions across 1,800 acres, including the Horror Hayride, Haunted Barn, Idalia Manor, Fear, Ravenwood Cemetery, the Attic, Zombie Town and Zombie Prison. Sites share a common theme and relate to a backstory, details of which can be explored on the haunt’s website.
