Looking for a place to take a romantic trip? Delaware is home to 3, new survey reveals

Looking for some me-time with your spouse before packed holiday schedules kick in?

A new survey revealed that Delaware offers some of the most romantic fall getaways in the country.

Delaware’s most romantic fall getaways

DatingAdvice polled 3,000 couples who shared their favorite romantic fall trips based on previous experience to determine the top fall getaways for couples. Of the locations featured, Delaware has three listed.

Lewes was the top Delaware choice for couples. The historic coastal town is already popular during the summer, but a trip in the fall lends itself to less traffic and pedestrian congestion, making waterfront walks and window shopping much easier. Those familiar with Lewes rave about local seafood restaurants and other beach favorites, which are still tasty during colder months.

Whether you’re hoping to spend time near the water or want a quieter retreat to explore local history, Lewes is a great choice.

The next Delaware pick is the Brandywine Valley. Characterized by historic estates and rolling hills, there’s no shortage of local history to be learned or fall foliage to take your breath away. When you’re done taking in the nature views, you and your partner can spend an afternoon touring nearby wineries and exploring museums. If you can’t find a babysitter, make it a family trip with the kids and check out the Brandywine Zoo and the Wilmington & Western Railroad.
