Edward Osienski and Jeffrey Spiegelman chosen as Delaware State House Majority and Minority Whips

A vote has been held to decide members of the Delaware House of Representatives. Leadership positions on both sides of the aisle would also need to be filled, including the Whips.

On the Democratic side, having won the most seats in the House, they have selected a new Majority Whip. The nod goes to Edward Osienski, who succeeds Kerri Evelyn Harris. Harris, and Iraq War veteran with the United States Air Force who had been the Whip since last year, is taking on the post of Majority Leader.

Osienski holds his seat in the House via the 24th District, which is based in Newark. First elected in 2010, he has won another seven campaigns since then. His other roles in the House have included serving as Chairman of the Committess on Labor, Transportation/Land Use and Infrastructure.

Edward Osienski is a graduate of Delcastle Technical High School in Wilmington and of Delaware Technical Community College. He has four children with his wife, Betsy.

For the Republicans, Jeffrey Spiegelman has been selected to follow Lyndon Yearick as the House Minority Whip. Spiegelman has been a member of the Delaware House of Representatives from the 11th District since 2012. That year, House Minority Leader Gregory Lavelle was vacating the seat in question to launch an ultimately successful bid for the Delaware Senate.
