It has begun: Gov.-elect and current New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer released the names of three appointees to lead his incoming gubernatorial administration.
Meyer named Vanessa S. Phillips as chief of staff, Wilson B. Davis as chief legal counsel and Evelyn Waters Brady as transition director.
Phillips has worked as a prosecutor in Washington, D.C., and previously served in leadership positions for several state-based agencies, including the Delaware Labor and Transportation departments.
Phillips also has served as chief administrator officer of New Castle County since 2018 , appointed by Meyer.
A lifelong Delaware resident, Davis has an extensive legal background, and served in the New Castle County Office of Law and the state Department of Justice, according to a statement.
Meyer also appointed Davis as county attorney for New Castle County in 2019.
Like the governor-elect, Brady worked as a public school teacher before becoming involved in several statewide advocacy organizations, such as the Delaware Voting Rights Coalition, Network Delaware and Planned Parenthood of Delaware.
