Small but mighty. How Delaware shines despite not ranking in America’s top 100 best cities

A new study has identified the best cities in the U.S., and while no city in Delaware made the list, the First State is close to several top-ranked locations — including six cities in a neighboring state.

Now in its 10th year, Resonance, a consulting firm specializing in tourism, real estate and economic development, has released its annual rankings of best cities: World’s Best Cities, America’s Best Cities and Europe’s Best Cities.

The company states the rankings of America’s Best Cities are based on its analysis of factors that correlate with a city’s ability to attract employment, investment and visitors. According to Resonance, metropolitan areas were analyzed using the core metrics of Livability, Lovability and Prosperity.

Top 5 America’s Best Cities

Here is Resonance’s rank of the top five cities in America:

  1. New York, New York
  2. Chicago, Illinois
  3. Los Angeles, California
  4. Miami, Florida
  5. Las Vegas, Nevada

Pennsylvania cities that made the list

While no Delaware cities made the Resonance list, the state is conveniently close to several locations that did, including No. 8 Washington, D.C., and No. 33 Baltimore. Additionally, the Diamond State is relatively close to the six cities in neighboring Pennsylvania that earned spots on the list:
