DOES Director Dr. Unique Morris-Hughes said the new system is part of their commitment to serve District workers better. The updated UI Benefits System aims to enhance the user experience by making the application process easier and more accessible to everyone in the community.
The system will be operated through a single-service portal. This portal will enable claimants and employers to submit necessary documents, file new claims, track the status of existing claims and appeals, and interact with DOES benefits representatives. The system can also be accessed and managed from mobile devices like smartphones and tablets.
With the system upgrade, claimants must now confirm their identity using ID.me, a service certified by the federal government for identity verification.
