An Ohio snowbird driving a rental car was tracked down by deputies after she allegedly fled the scene of a crash in a roundabout in The Villages.
Scharon Laree Pullins, 84, who owns a home in the Village of Caroline and also lives in Columbus, Ohio, was arrested Monday on a misdemeanor charge of hit-and-run.
According to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred on Oct. 20 at the roundabout at Stillwater Trail and Morse Boulevard. Dash camera footage from the victim’s vehicle showed a blue 2025 Chevrolet Malibu with Connecticut license plates fail to yield while changing lanes within the roundabout, causing a collision.
