January 24, 2024, marks 35 years since crowds cheered in Florida and ’round the nation. Word spread like wildfire while 42 witnesses watched the infamous Ted Bundy, the face of evil, get executed in the electric chair at 7:16 a.m. at Florida State Prison.

Childhood
Theodore Robert Cowell arrived on November 24, 1946. His mother, Eleanor Louise Cowell resided in a home for unwed mothers in Burlington, Vermont. Ted’s biological father was never confirmed.
His birth certificate had originally assigned paternity to a United States Air Force veteran named Lloyd Marshall. Later, a copy of it listed Ted’s father as unknown.
