I often write about grocery stores in Florida, and I find that readers are very passionate about their favorites. Some say they won’t go anywhere other than Florida-based Publix, and others steer clear because price is their primary concern.
Others who prioritize organics might seek out Sprouts, Whole Foods, or Trader Joe’s – all of which have a Florida presence.
However, a data analytics firm believes that they have come up with a definitive answer as to which is Florida’s best grocer in several categories.
The results may well surprise you. Why? Because The Daily Meal found that Publix was Florida’s “best” grocery store in September of 2023. In that same month, Vox called Pubix Florida’s “favorite” grocery store. There are also plenty of Publix stores, so most Floridians have access to one (at 860.)
Yet, Publix definitely doesn’t top the list in every category.
The Criteria For The Survey: Data analytics firm Dunnhumby has released its seventh-annual Retailer Preference Index (RPI) for U.S. Grocery. To measure that, the company looked at five categories – price, promotions and rewards, prices combined with promotions and rewards, speed and convenience, operations, and quality, according to Patch.
