In the last couple of months, I’ve reported on numerous Florida restaurants that cited rising or out-of-reach rent as a contributing factor to having to close.
Examples are The Coop, Molly Maguires, Harold Seltzer’s, and Wagon’s West.
Now, unfortunately, I have one more independently-owned Florida restaurant to add to the list of restaurant closures due to rising rents.
About Bassano Cheesecake CafĂ©: This family-owned company started with one very simple goal by the owners – to find a good New York-style cheesecake in Florida. When they couldn’t, they started experimenting with family recipes to come up with their own.
Once people started to taste their cheesecakes, they gained attention (and customers) very quickly once they opened in 2019. In addition to cheesecakes, they sell sandwiches, bagels, and other baked items.
They have a very rare perfect 5-shaded star rating from Safety Harbor patrons on Google reviews as of this writing. Nearly everyone raves about the food and the friendly owners.
