WEST PALM BEACH, Fla – As Hurricane Helene approaches, local first responders and volunteers are already on the move, ready to tackle the challenges the storm may bring. Palm Beach County Fire Rescue (PBCFR) is deploying resources to those in the panhandle and Big Bend areas.The State of Florida has requested PBCFR’s Swift Water Rescue Team, which includes 16 firefighters, a complete complement of water rescue assets, boats, trailers, and equipment, according to PBCFR.
