Florida Senate election 2024: District 27 Republican Ben Albritton on abortion, economy

Republican Ben Albritton, 56, is the incumbent candidate for Florida Senate District 27. An agribusiness owner, he owns and manage a business that serves and supports farmers statewide. Albritton has also served as a member of the Florida Senate since 2018. State senate terms last four years.

Prior to that, Albritton spent eight years as a member of the Florida House of Representatives .

“First and foremost, I’m a Christian, a husband, a father and a grandfather,” Albritton said. “I have the privilege of being called to serve as an elder in my church, the First Christian Church of Wauchula.”

Albritton is running against Phil Carter, 60, a Democrat . According to public records, Albritton is currently making just under $30,000 to represent his constituents in the Florida senate.

The district mostly comprises a bit of northeast Lee County , all of Charlotte County, including Babcock Ranch , plus DeSoto, Hardee and the southern portion of Polk County.

He faces Democrat Phillip Carter in the Nov. 5 general election.
