PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) — While its fun to spend time together at Christmas parties and other social gatherings it’s important to be responsible. Several law enforcement organizations are reminding citizens to practice safe habits this holiday season.
Agencies all over Florida are raising awareness of the dangers of driving under the influence.
In an annual effort to stop one of the leading causes of car crashes, state agencies are coming together for a safety campaign. “Drive sober or get pulled over” and “Drive high get a DUI” are two catchy phrases law enforcement officers hope everyone will remember.
“Anytime that NHTSA has these enforcement or safety campaigns going on the highway patrol and your local law enforcement sheriff’s office or local police departments will be focusing our enforcement activities toward these safety campaigns. These are campaigns designed because NHTSA has identified through their statistics that these are the main causes of of crashes during this time of year,” said Sgt. Nathaniel Russell.
