The unpaid toll scam, which appears remarkably legitimate, has been fooling many into paying fictitious toll fees. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) reports a surge in complaints about fake toll violation notices targeting SunPass and toll-by-plate customers across South Florida. The scam has already affected hundreds of drivers since October 2024.
