2024 has not been a kind year for all restaurant chains in Florida. I wrote about Florida based Florida-based Buca di Beppo losing 14 stores and multiple Red Lobster restaurants closing in Florida. And now Bob Evans is reportedly for sale and Florida recently lost one of its own.
About Bob Evans In Florida: It’s probably not surprising that this eatery started out as a small diner. But it would grow substantially because today it has nearly 500 locations in 18 states and around 34 of them are in Florida.
The location in question, at 100 Sheriff Drive in Melbourne, was well-traveled, having earned nearly 1,400 reviews on Google reviews, where it earns 4.1 out of 5 stars. While older reviews were good, more recent ones had more of a negative tone. For example, Elizabeth wrote:
“If I could give a 0 stars, that is what they would get. BLT was terrible- not to mention the manager and waitress were rude. I will never return.”
And Charlene wrote:
“Love their pot roast sandwich. However, their breakfast is very disappointing. The sausage patties were burned, and their hashbrown with cheese came with just cheese tossed on it. They never even melted the cheese. The carrots looked terrible.”
