The latest addition to Florida’s state parks is the breathtaking Gilchrist Blue Springs, and it truly does not disappoint. Welcome to Gilchrist Blue Springs State Park located in High Springs – Florida’s newest state park!

High Springs is located approximately 20 miles from Gainesville.

This picturesque park situated by the Santa Fe River features six natural springs, one of which is the impressive Gilchrist Blue Spring. This second magnitude spring produces around 44 million gallons of stunningly clear water each day.

Although it has recently achieved state park status, this area has been available for recreational activities as a private park since 1958. Visitors can look forward to a variety of recreational activities, including hiking, swimming, snorkeling, fishing, and paddling.

A 407-acre tract of land was acquired for $5.2 million with the aid of Florida Forever funds. Designating it as a state park will safeguard its preservation and allow future generations of visitors to enjoy its natural beauty.
