Four Men Caught on Camera Hauling Off Fridge From SW Atlanta Home

Four unidentified men walked straight through the front door of a home on the 1500 block of Linda Way SW in broad daylight and walked back out carrying the household refrigerator, according to the Atlanta Police Department. The brazen theft, captured entirely on home security video, happened around 10:59 a.m. on September 5, and investigators are still trying to identify the men more than a month later.

Police released security images of the four individuals in hopes that the public can help identify them, as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta. Officers responded to the home after the theft was reported, and investigators say the appliance heist is connected to an ongoing burglary investigation at the same Linda Way address. Authorities have not released detailed physical descriptions or estimated ages for any of the four men.

What Investigators Still Don’t Know

Several basic details remain unconfirmed as the case continues. Police have not disclosed what kind of vehicle the men used to haul the refrigerator away, and officials have not said whether any other valuables or property were taken from the home during the same incident.

The area has historic 1930s homes, significant renovation activity and rising property values, per Homes.com real estate data. Vacant properties undergoing renovations may have appliances left uninstalled, unsecured and highly visible, making them targets for theft.

A Wider Pattern of Appliance Targeting

Industry research backs up that vulnerability. A 2025 security study from property management technology firm Rently found that vandalism and appliance theft rank among the top security challenges facing vacant, renovating, and single-family rental homes during ownership transitions. Metro Atlanta has seen other unusual refrigerator-related burglary cases recently; Atlanta News First reported in March that police searching a vacant, renovating unit in Gwinnett County found a burglary suspect hiding inside an unplugged fridge, a case that led to felony burglary and property damage charges…
