COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Ending week on a foggy and dreary start yet again while temperatures remain mild in the upper 50s and a few lingering 60s. The forecast ahead as we close out the week remains unsettled and warm.
Scattered showers and storms will be possible again today, but the energy today seems rather unorganized. Higher chances for rain and storms seems to be more towards the southern end of the viewing area.
Saturday we are tracking a better chance of stronger storms primarily in the afternoon and generally along the Interstate 85 corridor. The only change from the previous forecast is that the Storm Prediction Center has trimmed back the area of slight risk (level 2 out of 5) and put the majority of the viewing area under a marginal (level 1 out of 5.)
Rainfall and flooding threat remains the primary concern as some areas have already received close to 3” over the course of this wet pattern. A Flood Watch remains posted through Saturday night for the counties of: Macon, Lee and Chambers in Alabama. Harris, Talbot, Troup and Meriwether of Georgia.
