Buc-ee’s expands into new territory, breaking ground in Georgia and Virginia

Buc-ee’s starts construction on two new stores this week. Buc-ee’s opened its first store in Texas in 1982 and is based in Pearland, near Houston.

Buc-ee’s now has 47 stores in Texas and seven other states.

Monday, the company will break ground on its third location in Georgia. The store will be along I-95 in Brunswick, near the Georgia coast.

Tuesday, Buc-ee’s will break ground on its first store in Virginia. The location will be along Interstate 81 about 80 miles southwest of Washington D.C.

“One of the prettiest roads we could ever hope for, I-81 is full of folks seeking fun and all that Virginia has to offer. We are the perfect pitstop for their road-trips and for the amazing people of Rockingham County,” Buc-ee’s wrote in a statement announcing the location near the city of Harrisonburg.

The company says each Buc-ee’s will cover about 74,000 square feet and include 120 gas pumps. The company says each store will also have more than 200 full-time jobs.
