MTG mocked for selling ‘Defund the FBI’ merchandise
On January 31, as the House of Representatives debated a Republican bill to pursue the impeachment of the Secretary of Homeland Security – Alejandro Mayorkas – for his apparent failures in regard to the U.S. southern border, one Democrat had clearly had enough of the conduct of Georgia’s most outspoken and divisive Republican – Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor-Greene.
Representative Seth Magaziner was quick to attack MTG for her outspoken rant about the threat of terror brought about by the current border crisis, while having previously called for the defunding of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (the FBI), as well as personally making money for her campaign fund by selling merchandise branded with the slogan ‘Defund the FBI’.
Speaking in the committee hearing, the Rhode Island Democrat – Magaziner – spoke about the hypocrisy of MTG lecturing her colleagues on the dangers of not preventing terrorism, while also seeking to abolish the federal office that is tasked with preventing it. As Magaziner put it:
