ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) – A low-pressure system is expected to slide through the Gulf Coast on Sunday and this will bring heavy rainfall and breezy winds as a tight pressure gradient takes shape across the region. Rainfall will start on Sunday morning with showers continuing throughout the entire day. High temperatures for Sunday will not be able to climb out of the 50s for many. There are no signs of severe weather at this time, but a few thunderstorms cannot be ruled out. Rain chances will diminish by the evening leaving behind drizzle and a few areas of fog possible on Monday morning. Throughout the rest of Monday, clouds will linger in the area and cool temperatures will remain in place. Breezy winds will also linger in the area with winds out of the northeast reaching upward of 25 mph. There is some good news for those who may not like the cooler weather because we will be warming up throughout the rest of the week. Highs will be back in the 60s by Tuesday with 70s returning by the end of the week. Plenty of dry time for the first full week of February, but showers may be back by the next weekend.
