FDA updates risk level for garlic bread recall in several US states

The US Food and Drug Administration has reclassified the danger level of a garlic bread product that’s been recalled due to “undeclared allergens.”

It’s now deemed a Class II by the FDA, indicating a moderate health risk .

The allergen exposure might cause “temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences, but where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.”

The recall kicked off on June 6. The products belong to Lidl US TRADING, headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, as per Newsweek.

These items were then shipped to outlets across Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, Georgia, South Carolina, Pennsylvania , New Jersey , Delaware, New York, and Washington D. C.

A representative for Lidl US informed Newsweek: “This voluntary recall was issued due to undeclared allergens in the product as a result of non-English ingredient labeling. Lidl US has received no reports or complaints of illness related to this product to date.”
