Did you know that one of the most richest families in the United States is actually from our very own “peach state”? This family that I am talking about is the Cathy family.
The Cathy Family siblings Dan T. Cathy, Trudy Cathy White and Bubba Cathy are the ambassadors, chairmen and EVP of the famous Georgia founded fast food chain restaurant, Chick-Fil-A.
The restaurant was started by their father Samuel Truett Cathy who began the Chick-Fil-A restaurant in Hapeville, Georgia in 1946 with a restaurant called the Dwarf Grill.
It was from this point that Samuel Truett Cathy and his brother and business partner Ben begin creating the chicken sandwich that Chick-Fil-A would later be famous for.
From 1964 to 1967, the sandwich was licensed to over 50 restuarants including the well known restuarant chain the Waffle House. The sandwich was also licensed to the concession stands of the Houston Astrodome.
The Chick-Fil-A sandwich was later withdrawn from any further sales at the other restaurants once the first standalone Chick-Fil-A location was officially opened in 1967 in the food court of the Greenbriar Mall in Atlanta.
