A codefendant in Young Thug’s YSL RICO trial has been sentenced as part of a plea deal that will see him serve several years behind bars.
On Tuesday (Oct. 29), Quamarvious Nichols entered a plea deal with prosecutors, in which he plead guilty to a single count of violating Georgia’s anti-racketeering laws in exchange for a 20-year sentence.
As part of the agreement, Nichols will serve seven years behind bars, including two years for time served prior to his sentencing, and 13 years of probation following his release. The defendant was previously facing a possible life sentence prior to striking his deal with the state.
In exchange for his plea, Nichols had several charges dropped, the most serious including murder and weapons possession. With Nichols’ sentencing, only five defendants, including Young Thug, remain in the YSL RICO trial, which is now the longest-running trial in Georgia history.
In May 2022, Young Thug and over two dozen members of his alleged YSL gang were arrested and charged as part of a 56-count indictment, which accused the crew of violating the Georgia state racketeering laws and committing violent acts, including murder, as part of the enterprise. Many of the defendants, including rap star Gunna, have been released from custody after striking plea deals.
