Eleven individuals face multiple drug trafficking charges after the unsealing of a federal indictment that reportedly details a regional conspiracy to distribute significant amounts of illegal drugs, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Southern District of Georgia announced today.
The defendants are reportedly charged with Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute, and to Distribute, controlled substances including cocaine, crack cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, oxycodone, and marijuana, as stated by the U.S. attorney’s office.
“This drug trafficking investigation required extensive coordination among federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to identify and disrupt the conspiracy,” said Jill E. Steinberg, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia, in a statement.
“We commend the diligent efforts of our law enforcement partners in working to protect our communities.”
The indictment reportedly outlines a drug trafficking network operating across Bulloch, Chatham, and Liberty counties.
