Freeze Watches & Warnings Also Posted Across Areas of Texas & Louisiana
11/28/24 11:20am EST
Good morning everyone. We have a fairly potent system bringing steady soaking rains in the Northeast, with interior heavy snows across parts of New York, Pennsylvania, all the way into Maine.
Meanwhile, behind our low pressure system, we are expecting heavy Lake Effect snows across the east/southeast shores of Lake Erie & Lake Ontario. Where the heaviest bands set up, we could see in excess of 2-3ft of snow in a short amount of time.
Cold air rushing in behind that system will be indiscriminate and won’t spare the Southeast or Gulf States. In fact, we are expecting temperatures to plummet to near or below the freezing mark across a wide area; including parts of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.
The National Weather Service has issued freeze watches for overnight tonight and early in the morning across areas just away from the beaches in the mentioned areas. Before that though, we have to get through some scattered rough weather.
