The state of Georgia experienced more earthquakes in 2024 than any other year since 1974. Georgia’s 17 earthquakes in 2024 all were minor — ranging from 2.0 to 2.49 on the Richter Scale — and caused no reported damage.
When we reported that story for Newsbreak, one of our readers commented, “I lived in the San Diego area for a while. I wouldn’t even get out of bed for less than a 5.0 shaker.”
So, we wondered, what would be the appropriate reaction to reading the story of Georgia’s record earthquake year in 2024. Our answer: create a playlist of earthquake related or earthquake-adjacent songs, started off by songs with a Georgia connection.
