Hawaii traffic: Plan ahead for these road closures

HONOLULU (KHON2) — For drivers looking to plan ahead, officials have announced some road closures along our busy roadways happening next week.

N. King Street:

On Wednesday, Jan. 31, Hawaiian Electric will be replacing an underground cable in Kalihi.

To complete the emergency work, crews will have parts of the right Ewa-bound lane along N. King Street closed off between Hoapili and Morris lanes. This will be from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

HECO said driveways in the work zone may get blocked but special duty police will be onsite to assist cars entering and exiting.

Likelike Highway:

Scheduled for next month, parts of the Likelike Highway will be closed for crews to complete inspections on the road.

The Likelike Highway Resurfacing Project will close off the Kaneohe-bound direction between Nalanieha Street in Kalihi and the Wilson Tunnel. This will be from 9 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 1, through 7 a.m., Friday, Feb. 2.

If weather interferes with the roadwork it may be rescheduled for a later date between Feb. 4 through Feb. 16.
