HONOLULU (KHON2) — The easterly winds are a little weaker Tuesday morning and are expected to weaken more as we go through the week.
Weakening winds
The easterly winds are a little weaker Tuesday morning and are expected to weaken more as we go through the week.
The flow will remain easterly through the weekend. By Saturday the winds will be relatively weak at around 5 to 15 mph. We will likely lose these easterly trades next Tuesday as a front approaches Hawaii.
Nice weather
The next 7 to 10 days will be very nice in Hawaii with partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies most of the time.
Expect overnight/morning isolated showers primarily in windward/mauka locations with a few of these showers pushing to leeward areas.
No significant rain is expected for the next ten days. A cold front is expected to push over the western islands next Tuesday into Wednesday, but it looks as if that front will only produce a few showers.
Temperatures should remain near normal with highs across the island chain in the upper 70s to low 80s over the next week and a half. Morning lows will also be near normal in the mid to upper 60s.
