HONOLULU – The Hawaii Supreme Court found a lower court improperly dismissed charges against someone who was arrested for firearm possession after brandishing an AR-15 and pistol in public. The state’s constitution does not guarantee a right to carry guns in public, and extends the right only to a well regulated militia instead: “It is a misplaced view to think that today’s public safety laws must look like laws passed long ago.”
