State Chair Derek Turbin tells us he was disappointed about the Presidential election.
“We were expecting a different result. With regards to local elections, we’re pretty happy. First and foremost, voter turnout was high, which is always exciting to see. People showed up to vote. You saw the long lines at city hall at Kapolei Hale. So that was really exciting for us. Always great re-electing Senator Mazie Hirono for the U.S. Senate. We re-elected our two Congress man and woman – Congressman Ed Case and Congresswoman Jill Tokuda. And we had some good results on the State House level. It looks like we did flip one State House seat,” said Turbin.
We asked if the Democratic Party needs to look at changing how they appeal to voters after the turnout of this election season.
