January snow survey shows bleak data

The start to 2024’s water supply was not encouraging to water watchers across Idaho. The Jan. 1 water supply outlook, produced by the Natural Resources Conservation Service, said snowpack reports from across Idaho at the start of the year showed record low numbers. Of particular concern were conditions in northern Idaho and the Upper Snake River basin where the lowest-ever snowpack were recorded.
