Traffic Stop Leads to Discovery of Illicit Drugs in Southern Idaho

POCATELLO – A routine traffic stop by the Domestic Highway Enforcement Team (DHE) of the Idaho State Police on February 8th led to a significant drug bust near Pocatello. Troopers pulled over a 2013 Chrysler 300 for an equipment violation in the early hours, where behaviors of the occupants prompted further investigation. A drug detection canine subsequently signaled the presence of illegal narcotics, leading to a search that uncovered roughly 5.5 pounds of methamphetamine and 3,000 fentanyl pills concealed within a spare tire.
