Opinion: Basic freedoms are being attack by an overzealous House committee

In a two-pronged approach, the Idaho House State Affairs Committee is proposing measures to take away basic freedoms from those who see the world differently than they do – all with a non-existent mantle of authority. House Bill 384, about relocating certain books within the libraries, is the proposal most are aware of. However, Representative Julianne Young of Blackfoot is proposing two other bills, as yet unnamed, to define acceptable genders and to identify what library items are harmful to minors.
