Idaho Supreme Court denies convicted killer’s motion to delay execution

BOISE, ID. — The Idaho Supreme Court has rejected a motion to delay the execution of convicted killer, Thomas Creech.

Creech’s execution was scheduled for February 28, 2024, but the defense team filed a motion to stay the execution while an appeal was heard.

On Friday, the Idaho Supreme Court affirmed the district court’s ruling to deny Creech’s petition calling it “untimely”.

Creech is Idaho’s oldest living death row inmate having been convicted of murder and serving over 40 years. He was sentenced to death in 1995.
