Authors Against Book Bans to host public read-in event at Idaho State Capitol

Authors Against Book Bans is hosting a public event to connect readers, writers, educators and librarians to celebrate stories and the ability to read this weekend.

When: 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10
Where: Idaho State Capitol steps

Authors Against Book Bans is a nonpartisan grassroots coalition of writers, illustrators, anthology editors and book creators who stand against limitations against reading.

The event will include guest readings, where attendees will hear excerpts from Idaho authors of their works. The event will also feature book giveaways and opportunities to register to vote with the help of members from the League of Women Voters.

The event is free and open to the public. No registration is required, and attendees are encouraged to bring their own books, picnic blankets and sunshades to participate.
