Atomic Potato Chip Company selected to serve chips to Idaho Governor’s Cup

ARCO — The Atomic Potato Chip Company has been selected to serve its potato chips at the Idaho Governor’s Cup that will be held in Coeur d’Alene in September.

Don Tarner, who owns the company with his wife, said they have been in business for three years now, and being selected for this event was a great honor.

“We were blown away and very excited,” he said. “It’s very humbling that we would even be considered.”

Tarner first heard about the event after the head chef contacted him and asked him to send him some samples of his different chip flavors.

“We sent samples, and he said they were absolutely delicious,” he said.

There will be several of Atomic Potato Chip’s flavors featured at the event. A few of the flavors that were requested include roasted garlic parmesan, aged cheddar jalapeño, green onion and ketchup and fries.

“Right now, we are up to 25 flavors,” Tarner said. “He chose those to be the ones provided.”

The Governor’s Cup is an event that is held every year. This year it will be in Coeur d’Alene during the first week of September. It has several events that take place, such as golf, a barbecue and a ball, which is where the chips will be served.
