Cool and unsettled into the weekend!

Most will see mainly sunny skies with a slight increase in temperatures as we head into the upper 80s and 90s Thursday. Areas with more cloud coverage, like Wenatchee and Moses Lake will see temperatures just slightly cooler in the low to mid 80s. Northerly winds are set to pick up for the northern mountains of Washington and Idaho, as well as the Columbia Basin as an area of low pressure deepens over southern Oregon and central Idaho. Wind gust of 25mph and RH of 25% or less will create the potential for elevated fire danger. As the low continues to trek inland Friday, the Inland northwest will see southerly winds usher in maritime air, producing cool air advection…a rare phenomenon for our area. What that means for us is a drop in temperatures and a rise in dewpoints and the potential for showers Friday evening and overnight into Saturday.
